Before Landing

These are some things you need to do before and after you land: Share your inputs and I will add them. Prepare a list of documents you might need.  I will probably prepare a list of documents you can use as a reference. Keep copies of the documents at home, in case someone back home needs it. If it is in a different language (other than English) have it translated from home as it is expensive here. Research on the location you want to stay based on the jobs available, housing, accessibility to transport. Book a place in Airbnb in advance to get good rates. Find out the best time to land (Nov to Jan, not so great for IT candidates) Research companies that hire profiles similar to yours. familiarize yourself with the names of these companies understand what hard skills and soft skills do companies (at least 10) look for (you will get in their website) (it is different in Canada). Do not presume, it might be a costly mistake. customize your resume in Canadian style...
